New Orleans Car Accident Law firm

Employee Spotlight: Shealyn Darda

To kick off our new Employee Spotlight series, we interviewed personal injury paralegal Shealyn Darda about her and what motivates Shealyn to provide the best possible service she can to her clients every day.

What is your role at Burgos and Associates and what are your responsibilities?

I am an assistant to multiple attorneys. I have the responsibility of opening files, drafting pleadings, scheduling appointments, deadlines, depositions and hearings for all personal injury cases while also maintaining attorney calendars and client communication.

What brought you to Burgos and Associates?

When I graduated from High School in 2003, I was eager to join the workforce. An acquaintance told me about this position, so I applied and have been here for the last 14 years!

What is your favorite part about your job?

I enjoy the uniqueness of each client and learning the details of each particular case. It’s also very rewarding to work as a team to help our clients convert a negative experience like a car accident into a positive one.

What is the one thing you would like the public to know about your job?

My job is very tedious, and I believe it takes a lot of hard work and dedication that goes towards each client to get a successful outcome. Also, for our clients who have been injured or in an accident, I have to constantly be informing them of every step to make sure that they feel comfortable and trust us throughout the process since it can take time to conclude. So, expect to be hearing from me a-lot.

Working for 14 years in a law firm has taught you…

That paying close attention to details while working effectively, efficiently and close with the attorney handling the case always allows us to get the best results for our clients.

What inspires you?

My husband and my three sons – they are the best ever.
